Saeborg

Photography by Alan Clark

I am Saeborg—an imperfect cyborg, half human and half toy. I create latex bodysuits as extensions of my own skin and deploy them in performances. I’m interested in breathing life into worlds and emotions in our minds that rarely take shape in the real world to inflate them into three-dimensional objects. Motivated by a strong desire to transcend entrenched identity categories like sex, gender, and even the human body itself, I wear bodysuits that caricature animals like sows and insects as toy-like figures, creating playful utopias composed of the “lowest” organisms in their ecosystems.
