‘Haircut’ by Seung Rok Baek

Photography by Seung Rok Baek

"When I first began studying photography, I focused on commercial work — always searching for beauty and striving to make everything look perfect. Over time, though, I found myself drawn instead to the simple and ordinary. These moments, unpolished and unadorned, often carry a quiet power — they reveal feelings and details we usually overlook.

One day, while getting my hair cut at my regular salon, I noticed the strands falling across my face and shoulders. In that instant, I thought, this is it. It felt raw and honest. I was captivated by the subtle rhythm of the hairdresser’s hands and the intimacy of the moment. That experience became the starting point for this series." - Seung Rok Baek
